It’s European Day of Languages! 🎉

And what better excuse to talk about something I obviously love a little too much… LANGUAGES. 😂

If you’ve been around here for a while, you probably know that languages are a pretty big part of my life. Spanish, French, English, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic… and, of course, Galician. Some I speak fluently, some I understand better than I speak, some I mix up with other languages, and some I wish I used more often. Basically… my brain is a multilingual mess. 😅

So, to celebrate the European Day of Languages on 26 September, I made a video talking about all the languages in my life.

❤️ Languages are more than grammar

For me, this is one of the most beautiful things about learning languages.A language gives you access to people, music, books, films, jokes, food, travel, memories and completely different ways of seeing the world. And sometimes it even gives you the feeling that you can live several different lives.

So this European Day of Languages, instead of asking our students only “How many languages do you speak?”, maybe we can ask:

“How many languages are part of your life?”
